Smiley Technologies, Inc.
Chief Technology Information Officer (June 2015 – January 2020)

Executive management responsibility for financial (banking) software development with a department performing business analysis, software analysis and design, and computer programming. Primary liaison to all other departments and a member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the CEO.

Personal banking application knowledge includes a conceptual and software coding-level understanding of loans, deposits, G/L, and everything in between.

Applications developed and maintained in my department included IBM midrange database and “core” processing, back-office client solutions, web, and mobile applications in a continuous delivery environment with production implementations occurring roughly weekly.

Primary architect for all of our advanced application development efforts. This included providing the vision and substantial design input for the “open API” which was foundational in our own web/mobile solutions and extensible to third-party FinTech providers.

A hands-on leader, I also did the work of a programmer – performing analysis and design, and programming across the full stack including work in RPG and SQL on the IBM midrange, in C# on the desktop client and for web services, in JavaScript (plus frameworks) on the web client, and in Java for Android mobile apps.

Consultant
President/Owner (2007-2015)

Using EGL, Java, RPG, and related technologies I assisted customers with modernization of their legacy applications and also assisted with development of new Web and mobile applications and internal, back-office solutions.
